A Message from Rev. Mona Goulette
Greetings and welcome to our web site!
We are delighted that you have taken the time to visit us on the internet! Our parish community is made up of two
congregations: St. John’s Anglican Church in Port Elgin and St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Southampton. We are two
vibrant church communities serving God together in Saugeen Shores. In the larger scheme of things, we are part of the
Anglican Diocese of Huron in South Western Ontario whose official mission statement is:
“The people of the Anglican Diocese of Huron are called by God to work together as a servant community.
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and, by our words and actions,
joyfully bear witness in the world, the transforming power of God's love.”
My name is Mona Goulette and, in January 2011, I joined the parish as its new priest. If you are seeking a spiritual
home and sanctuary, it is our hope that you consider one of our two spaces to provide such a place. One of our
guiding principles as a gathered community of God’s people is “People first!” This motto helps keep before us
a vision that we strive to become:
“A safe harbour that welcomes pilgrims and provides hospitality by offering worship that renews and
refreshes the soul."
Wherever you find yourself on this journey of life, please know that your presence will always be welcomed at St. John’s
and St. Paul’s. We look forward to meeting you soon!
God’s peace and blessing be with you!
Mona
